Tourism around Mas Orfila and the Pyrenees Orientales region (Perpignan & Collioure)

We're located just 10 minutes from the Catalan capital, Perpignan, with its rich historical past. You can stroll through the narrow streets of the old town and visit the many tourist sites such as "Le Castillet", "Le Palais des Rois de Majorque", "La Cathédrale Saint-Jean" and many more. We'd be more than happy to share our experiences in this beautiful region.

At the seaside, you can explore the fine sand and pebble beaches and wonderful coves of the Catalan coast, The coast stretches from Leucate to the north and Cerbère south, to the border of Spain via the picturesque village of Collioure.

On the plain side, discover PERPIGNAN, with its rich historical past and prestigious sites to visit, such as :

Le Castillet, the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, St. John's Cathedral, Campo Santo...

But also the beauty of the Orgues d'ILLE SUR TET, fortresses such as Quéribus, Sales le Château, the charming village of CASTELNOU and its farmers' market.

The wine routes of ALGLY and BANYULS SUR MER are also worth a visit. Take part in tasting workshops for vins doux naturels and other great "CATALAN" wines at Les vignobles.

On the mountain side, you'll be enchanted by our emblematic mountain "LE CANIGOU", which rises to 2784 meters and is only 2 hours away.

The region's must-sees

Collioure

Collioure boasts incomparable maritime and architectural treasures. A Catalan port, a fishing village, a medieval heritage and the sun-drenched colors of the Mediterranean coast, you'll understand why Matisse, Derain and Picasso decided to plant their easels here. Discover a beautiful stopover in the Pyrénées Orientales, also known as the pearl of the Côte Vermeille.

Castelnou

Castelnou is a charming village just 15 minutes from Perpignan. This medieval village on the hillside is both picturesque and magnificent. The old stones plunge visitors into another era. A few shops on the squares. A picturesque market is held at the foot of the village on Tuesdays. Pay parking is 3€. Flat shoes are essential for safe walking. Several restaurants on site, but remember to make reservations when you arrive in the morning as places go quickly.

Illes sur tet

A well-maintained natural site well worth a visit. Impressive and very pretty to look at. A leisurely 25-minute stroll, accessible to all.

Ceret market

The yellow train

This is a small (yellow) tourist train, with one open carriage. A lovely ride in a magnificent, pleasant setting. A change of scenery, bucolic at a leisurely pace that lets you take in the scenery. Parking is in front of Villefranche de Conflent train station. Remember to buy tickets in advance, especially in summer, and don't forget to bring something to eat and drink.

Sentier de Paulilles

A beautiful historic site planted with trees and perfectly maintained by the Conservatoire du Littoral. A little corner of paradise with coves accessible all along the coastal path. Great hiking trail. Ample free parking.

Cap Béar lighthouse

Magnificent setting, breathtaking views on all sides. A great place to hike, but be sure to bring good shoes as access to the lighthouse is very rocky. Incredible place surrounded by the sea and mountains. Breathtaking views.
